Small Group Check-in

Noob Question: I'm trying to configure groups where ONLY members of the group can check into the location.  That way only people who have been background checked can have a label for the preschool.  Right now, it's letting anyone of the right age check into that group.  When I choose "Inherit from Small Group Section" it allowed my 2-year-old to be a teacher!  I see that other people are being successful, how do you do this?

    Hi Virginia,

    You can configure this check-in restriction by setting the "Attendance Rule" on the Group Type to "Already Belongs" instead of "Add on Check-in".

    But when you create a Check-In Group, this does not have that option?  And Groups that you make with the Group Viewer don't Check-In at the kiosk?  Or how do you Check-In at the Kiosk groups that you made with the Group Viewer?

      The Check-In Configuration is directly linked to Groups and Group Types behind the scenes - it just provides a simplified way of configuring check-in, so some of the settings are hidden. Check-in Areas are actually Group Types, and check-in Groups are like any other Rock Groups, although they are not visible in the Group Viewer. Groups that you create in the Group Viewer can also be configured for check-in by modifying their Group Type to allow it.
      I highly recommend reading through the "Checking-out Check-In" user manual for a more complete explanation of how all of this works. This section in particular explains the relationship between Groups/Group Types and the various Check-In components:
