Data migration with a Mac

Hi,

We just installed Rock RMS on our virtual server and have access. I am completing the Administrator Checklist but also wanted to test some data migration. I was planning to use the excavator but just realized it is for Windows only. We use Macs in our office. Is there another way to migrate the data from Fellowship One to Rock RMS?

Thanks!

    Hey Chris,
I'm going to mark this as answered.

You could comment back and let us know if it worked for you or if you took a different approach? Feel free to mark it as unanswered or to provide a different answer.

Thanks Arran. We are getting a few windows machines for check in so I will borrow one as needed to run excavator.

    Chris,

I used excavator to import most of our data. Also being a Mac user I had trouble with this. What I did was I used Microsoft Remote Desktop to log in to the virtual server and run excavator. As far as I know, there isn't another way to migrate data, but excavator worked pretty well for us.

Performance-wise I would highly recommend running Excavator on the actual SQL server as well. It will save you the bandwidth in/out at your host and should speed it up quite a bit (local vs network traffic).
