Embedding Video's

What is the best way to embed a video on a page that is not on YouTube?  I want to upload a video to our site and embed it on a page.  Is that possible?  Is this the best way to do it?

    Although it is possible to upload and play videos from rock my I ask why you prefer to host the file in Rock? Or am I misunderstanding the question? 

    The benefit of uploading it to youtube or vimeo would be that playing the video is taxing their sever instead of yours (or Arvixe servers if I remember correctly from previous posts). 

    My preference is Vimeo for embedded videos.

    No, you understood correctly, i will give vemio a try. I guess i was wondering if there were better way of doing it

      Sounds good. Let me know if you have any other questions and don't feel pressured into paying. Vimeo's free service is probably plenty.

        I agree with DJ. Vimeo has become our staple for video (playback and podcast distribution). I would also add that Vimeo Pro is a great resource because it allows direct access to the mp4 files behind the video - which is how you can use Vimeo as a CDN for podcasting.
