Payment Gateway through PayPal Payments Instead of PayFlow

I talked with PayPal and they said we could set up a PayPal Payments Pro account as a nonprofit rather than a PayFlow Pro account so then they would take care of all the payments rather than having to set up an Internet Merchant Account at a bank.  They said a Payments Pro account includes a PayFlow Pro account with it for free.  Fees for nonprofits are 2.2% + $0.30 per transaction + $30/month for the Payments Pro account + $10/month for the recurring billing with no set up or termination fees.  That's better than what I can get if I set up an Internet Merchant Account with my bank and use PayFlow Pro.  Does anyone know if this wouldn't work for some reason?

I was also wondering if anyone has tried setting up RockRMS with a PayPal Payments Standard account and have the cart process the actual payment on PayPal's website?  It would save us quite a bit of money as we get started with this.  Just wondering if that's a possibility.

    Jonathan-

"They said a Payments Pro account includes a PayFlow Pro account with it for free"

I'm not expert in payment gateways, but I think that statement is the key. If you have a "Payflow Pro" account (gateway) with credentials, it should work with Rock just fine. Rock is only using Payflow Pro as a gateway... what happens on the back end processing isn't really relevant... at least I don't think it is ;-)

I'm pretty sure I know someone using Paypal Payments with an existing (not Rock) ChMS that also uses "Payflow Pro" as its gateway and it works fine for them, so I'm betting it works here as well. Sorry I can't be more definitive. If you do go ahead and set this up and it works, I'd love to hear your experience. We're currently a Payflow Pro customer and it sounds like we could benefit from the Paypal Payments NFP stuff.
