Finances: other gateways

Our church is already set up with a different online giving option, SecureGive. Is there any way to add this gateway to the list of gateways that can be downloaded from? I don't see the option to add a gateway.

And while I'm on the subject, our old ChMS allowed the importing of a CSV list of transactions- could that potentially be added  as a gateway (or other mechanism) to allow the importing of other arbitrary financial transactio data (especially since nobody seems to provide the drivers I need for our check scanner)? That might be a generic enough gateway that people like myself could massage the data from unsupported gateways and get it into Rock...

We've developed a SecureGive import utility block (currently in beta) that takes a given SecureGive export (in the F1 format, I believe) and imports the transactions into a Rock batch and ties the contributions to the matched person record.  It hasn't gotten much use since we have not cut over to Rock yet but once it does and we're confident it's working well, we'll happily document it on our wiki and support it for the long run. Once the Rock store is ready we'll probably package it and offer it up there for free.

    Hey Michael!

Not sure about the CSV part of your question, but I know our church contacted SecureGive months ago to see if they would support Rock.  Their answer then was that we couldn't have access to any of their source code.........I know we'll revisit it at some point.  Not sure if anyone else here has had any better luck!

OK, thanks for the SecureGive information- though that's disappointing. Maybe some pressure from paying end-users would help (long shot)...I'll see who we can send a message to. In the meantime if it's OK I'll leave this unanswered to see if there's any way for us to add arbitrary data from other sources (like the csv file option I floated).

Is anyone else using the financial parts of Rock yet, and if so are you really doing all external transactions one-at-a-time?

Just jumping in to say that Rock is fully extensible, including payment gateways, and should be able to integrate with just about any financial gateway, IF they have an API that is usable and stable... no source code necessary, as Rock doesn't need to incorporate code from anyone else, it just needs to know how to talk to their API. The gotcha, as always, is that someone has to WRITE the Rock gateway piece, and as these things often go, the non-coder types have to wait for one to be written or pay someone to write it.

Thanks, @NickAirdo for getting this integration started! @Frank,  our apologies  if we didn't answer your questions correctly earlier when you called. You are correct in that we do not have a public API/open source setup for developers to integrate with. However, we do have a number of ChMSes we integrate with (file exports, and using ChMS APIs) and have it on the docket to hopefully add RockRMS to the list here soon!

Thanks, all, for being part of the SecureGive team and excited for The Rock!

We are in the same situation needing integration between SecureGive and Rock.

Nick, is that plugin still compatible? The link you placed is now dead.

    Thanks!
