Who provides the Silver Bullet check scanner driver for our allegedly supported scanner?

We have been using a Digital Check TellerScan TS240 check scanner for deposits already. According to http://www.sbullet.com/products_ranger_types.html, that scanner supports the Ranger API. But when I launch the check scanner external application, it can't find the scanner and says, "ERROR: no scanner drivers. Make sure that either a Ranger or MagTek driver is installed".

At first in trying to find the appropriate driver, I called Digital Check by mistake (thought I was still looking at the silver bullet tab when I found the support number). They, of course, only make the hardware- the application developer is supposed to license what is necessary in order to create and provide the driver to their customers.

Reading the Rock documentation, that fits- I'm supposed to have a driver that provides the Ranger API toolset from Silver Bullet. So I contacted Silver Bullet: I figured I might as well find out how much they charged for the driver.

But their response back to me was as follows:

As you can see here: http://www.sbulletsupport.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=f39bed8c971c326ab9a4ef8d91feae9f&topic=240.0 Ranger should be supplied to you by your application provider.  End users should not contact SBT directly.

We apologize for the inconvenience; however, please contact your application provider for the appropriately certified version of Ranger.

So ... now what? I don't think that Rock provides scanner drivers- am I missing the correct avenue to obtain a compatible driver somewhere obvious?

I think the answer has to be, "nobody". If someone ends up here with the same question, it appears that unfortunately you cannot rely on that list of "supported" scanners- if you don't have an installation disc that came with the scanner which contains the Ranger driver, you're not going to get it.

We have purchased a Canon scanner like everyone else appears to be using. The drivers were on the CD, and it took about 3 minutes to get it completely working correctly (as far as I can tell- we'll see what the accountant says). Easy solution. Too bad it's $500.

    Michael,

Not sure if it helps, but on the Canon scanner that I have, it took me awhile to figure out the Ranger Drivers were in a separate folder on the installation disc that was packaged with the scanner
