Importing Data from CiviCRM

We are migrating from CiviCRM.

I know I can use CSV and XML to import data, but I'd like to directly import all my people, families, contributions, notes, and custom data. I'm very familiar with the CiviCRM API, but I'm having difficulty grasping the Rock API. Is there any really comprehensive documentation for the API including a simple "Get Started" guide?

OR

Does anyone have an already working script for migrating data from CiviCRM to Rock?
