Arvixe Hosting

Hi Guys,

I just re-read the Rock Solid External Hosting guide again.  I noticed that Arvixe is not mentioned in it at all.  Is that because too many people have been having issues with Arvixe?

We are having issues right now!  How hard is it to move the website to a different host?

Thanks!

    Keith-

You should read this Important Hosting Update. You should also be regularly checking the /connect blog here for news like this.

I also hightly recommend you listen to the latest podcast here http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/Connect where they go into a lot of detail as to what's happening on the Arvixe platform, and where things stand with running Rock on it.

Thank you!  I guess we have not been paying enough attention to those.

I would add that (based on other threads you've posted in) is seems like you're using a personal-class instance, which is likely going to give you plenty of performance issues even when everything at Arvixe is running "right." I could be assuming too much, but it also seems like you're already trying to deploy Rock for actual "production" use, not just toying with it. If that's the case, you're going to need to spend some real money (not crazy, but probably $100/mo unless you're a tiny church) to get a hosted instance that performs and is as-reliable as you'll want/need it to be. I don't think the Arvixe personal instance will cut it.

Yes Jim, you are correct. We have now upgraded to the Business Plan and may have to upgrade again as we grow. Thanks.

FIY we are only using the backend as production, since we needed to load all the members anyway, we are using it to send communications. The website is not live until the beta is over.
