Workflow Trigger: Possible to launch User Entry Workflow??

Hi

Is it possible to launch a workflow that has a User Entry as a workflow Trigger?

On post-save of a new Person i want to launch a workflow to assign some attributes

Thanks

Not sure, but I don't think that's possible as I don't think the UI for the workflow can be presented in that context (how would it react when a person is added due to online giving or an event registration, also?). I also don't think you can differentiate between a "new person save" and "saving a change to an existing person", so the workflow (even if it is possible) would fire on EVERY save of a person's record.

However, there might be another option. Are you just wanting to present a UI where extra person attributes are prompted-for when you're adding a new person? If so, you can edit the settings on the Add Family block to add one or more Attribute Categories, and the Add Family block will then prompt for the attributes in these categories tacked onto the end or the normal add person process. Recall an attribute can be in multiple categories, so you can create a new attribute category just for this purpose and add any person attributes to it regardless of the categories they are in on the Extended Attributes tab.

Hi Jim, was hoping you could help me out on another workflow related question. I cant seem to get the Group Members Worflow trigger to pass in the Entity (Person) correctly. i keep getting an "entity is null error"

      This is what i did:

      1. Create person attribute called "Member"

      2. Create action "Attribute Set from Entity"

      3. Send Mail to "Member"

but as i said i keep getting this error

I don't have much experience with workflow triggers at this point, so not sure I can be of much help. I would ask this question as a new one, so others will see it and hopefully give you some input. Since this thread deals with a different issue and is "solved" many likely won't see this question.

Dillian, post your second question as another new item in the Q&A (and include some screenshots because it's not clear what you're trying to do from your given details above.)
